I wanted to put this quick post up since I know there’s a lot of guys out there (myself included) who are always looking to grow their arms just a little bit more. If not, you at least want some more definition right? Well, this workout could be a nice little change of pace for you guys (and girls) out there…
Let me for start by saying, you need to start thinking of your arms very much like your legs, in terms of muscle groups. You want to train them both equally, not one more than the other. I bet a few of us get in the habit of wanting to train our arms (and/or other muscle groups) more than our legs – this could not be more wrong!
If anything you should train your legs MORE than your arms, but we’ll leave that for a different post. The reason I bring this up, is your arms (like your legs) get a lot of “action” on a daily basis when you’re not at the gym. In other words, you’re always using them; lifting, pulling, pushing, etc. So when you workout your arms at the gym, you really want to ensure you do it BIG and don’t mess around.
If you’ll notice the workout below, it’s not too intense. This is a great Arm Workout for beginners or if you’re experienced, this is a good workout to switch things up from your normal arm routine.
I start this workout off by doing a different form of biceps curls that you might not of tried before, these help keep your back straight so you’re not swinging your arms while you curl. I do another three exercises, each one is a superset where I alternate my bicep and triceps. Then I end the workout strong with some intense barbell bicep curls.
Each of these exercises, I like to do 4 sets with 8-12 reps. I increase my weight as I decrease my reps on each set, this is important to gain size and strength. Also, be sure you don’t rest for too long in between sets, I want to keep my muscles engaged as much as possible, so only rest for about 1-2 minutes.
